Hi trying to burn DVD-Rip to a DVD+RW 1-4 speed4.7GB. Always around the 40 to 50 mins the play back on dvd player starts jumping and frezing tryed picking the lowest record speed but it still keeps doing this changed disc and dvd players. please can anyone help
@tiska Welcome to aD! To try and help you with this post back the make, model and firmware version of the drive your are burning with and the brand of discs you are using. To get the make, model and firmware in Nero go to ToolKit>InfoTool. The drive will be listed and on the drive tab there is a field for the firmware version.
In addition to what Binkie has stated... Are you using Recode? If so look at your compression ratio, it it is 75% or below you will want to use advanced analysis and slow burning options. Also make sure that your target size is set to 4300 to avoid burning too close to the edge of the disc.
hi ya thank you for your reply so quick. looked in info tool and in there it says driver typeDVD+R/RW firmware version 1.05 burrer size 2MB it has a wright speed and a read speed drop down box but wont let me change it to a lower speed each time i change it and go to something else come back its back on what it was set on befor
Okay now all we need is the make & model of the drive (this will be listed at the top right under 'nero InfoTool') and the brand of discs you are using. When you say dvd-rip do you mean a video/movie that's on your hard drive or are you copying from a another disc?
hi ya binkie7 thank you for your help the name of the drivers that are listed are [1:0] D:\SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-816B or [1:1] E:\_NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A the name of the disc that i am using is Maxell DVD+ RW 1-4 speed 120 min video rw 4.7 GB
Hi tiska The drive your burning with is the NEC - looks like it has the original firmware. The latest version is 1.0C. Here's a link: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1517 The discs your using can be made by 3 different manufacturers - one iffy the other 2 okay. Update the firmware and see if that's helps the playback problem. Have you tried playing the disc back in the pc? Any problems there? Let us know how it turns out!
@tiska I have a NEC 1300a and the fw binkie gave you is correct, if you are running on 1.05 that is original fw and your burner will not recognize newer media.
hi ya binkie your an angel disc plays fine when on the pc i will try the link you gave me and get back to you thank you for your in put arniebear will let you all know how it goes
binkie thank you for helping me i won't to marrie you you saved my pc i am now burning away happy as larry lol updateing the fw helps binkie rules
LOL - hopefully you're a guy cause otherwise some areas frown upon that kinda of thing :0) Glad we could help - sometimes it's just a fairly easy update that can resolve the problem. Happy Burning!
