Nero Start Smart I have Nero 8 installed. I'm having trouble w/ Start Smart the Start page is not showing any items in the Launch Applications box. When i click on Add/Remove i get a blank page that pops up. Thank You, Gary Teresi
I don't have Nero 8, so I can only guess here, but since your image did not show up, is the inside of the box blank, and are you using Vista? Nero 7 had a problem once where the contents inside the frame were invisible, and it turned out if the desktop Font size was anything other than 96 you could not see the application. If this could be the case, right click on the desktop, left frame "Adjust font size (DPI)" and select 96 for a font size. Your Add/Remove comment doesn't relate to anything I see in StartSmart, so I may be missing your problem.
Using XP home. Here is a similar shot. http://images.pcworld.com/reviews/graphics/138034-NeroStartSmart_b.jpg What is missing in mine is on the top... Rip and Burn, Create and Edit, Home Entertainment, and Backup are all gone, all i have is the Start Page box. On the right it has Launch applications and Add / Remove, When i press that there is supposed to be a list of applications like Nero Express etc. which are supposed to list under Launch Applications. One thing i forgot to mention was that when i launch Start Smart i get an error messagelease reinstall Microsoft core services MSXML 4.0 SP 2 or higher Unable to create XML Parser instance. Which i did, no help at all, it still comes up the same. Thank You, Gary Teresi
All I might think would be the install was done prior to repairing the other problem. Maybe if you use the Nero 8 clean tool and then reinstall it will work correctly. Using the clean tool for some of the earlier Nero 7 installs was almost a must, but I don't know if the Nero 8 uninstaller has the same problem. http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-tools-utilities.html
i had to reinstall the MSXML 4.0 SP 2 Now everything is back to normal. i guess i may have installed the wrong up date at the time. Thanks to all o f you who responded. Gary
