I first began my project by saving YouTube.com files to my harddrive using VideoDownloader. I had to save these files as .flv dlash videos. No problem, they played, but Nero wouldn't allow me to add them to he compilation as I tried to create my movie. So I then went out and downloaded an excellent file converter called SUPER. I chose to convert one file to avi and burn it to a dvd to save time and test out my method for success. This worked perfectly and the menu was great, etc. So I went ahead and converted my other 70+ video files over to .avi. I spent hours putting the menu and other properties of this project together and it began to burn and then I got the following error message: [19:53:33] NeroVision === CDRom-Device-Map === [19:53:33] NeroVision ATAPI 52X CDROM D: CDRom1 [19:53:33] NeroVision PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D E: CDRom0 [19:53:33] NeroVision AXV CD/DVD-ROM G: CDRom2 [19:53:33] NeroVision ======================= [19:53:33] NeroVision AutoRun : 1 [19:53:33] NeroVision Excluded drive IDs: [19:53:33] NeroVision WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte [19:53:33] NeroVision BUFE : 0 [19:53:33] NeroVision Physical memory : 767MB (785904kB) [19:53:33] NeroVision Free physical memory: 298MB (305976kB) [19:53:33] NeroVision Memory in use : 61 % [19:53:33] NeroVision Uncached PFiles: 0x0 [19:53:33] NeroVision Use Inquiry : 1 [19:53:33] NeroVision Global Bus Type: default (0) [19:53:33] NeroVision Check supported media : Disabled (0) [19:53:33] NeroVision 20.5.2006 [19:53:33] NeroVision NeroAPI [19:53:33] NeroVision 7:53:29 PM #1 Text 0 File BurnAtOnceRecorder.cpp, Line 3668 [19:53:33] NeroVision Disc info: [19:53:33] NeroVision Partitions: 2 [19:53:33] NeroVision #0: Start: 0, Size: 15920 [19:53:33] NeroVision #1: Start: 15936, Size: 16 [19:53:33] NeroVision [19:53:33] NeroVision 7:53:29 PM #2 SPTI -1064 File SCSIPassThrough.cpp, Line 290 [19:53:33] NeroVision E: CdRom0: SCSIStatus(x02) WinError(0) NeroError(-1064) [19:53:33] NeroVision Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST) [19:53:33] NeroVision Sense Code: 0x21 [19:53:33] NeroVision Sense Qual: 0x02 [19:53:33] NeroVision CDB Data: 0x2A 00 00 00 41 70 00 00 10 00 00 00 [19:53:33] NeroVision Sense Area: 0x70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 21 02 [19:53:33] NeroVision Buffer x06cfe200: Len x8000 [19:53:33] NeroVision 0x00 00 01 BA 44 00 96 A8 FD 05 01 89 C3 F8 00 00 [19:53:33] NeroVision 0x01 E0 07 EC 80 00 00 B5 15 87 A4 48 E4 33 1D BB [19:53:33] NeroVision 0x45 30 D0 09 F9 2C 30 D2 66 46 28 A6 C0 3D 47 7F [19:53:33] NeroVision [19:53:33] NeroVision 7:53:32 PM #3 Phase 38 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278 [19:53:33] NeroVision Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s) [19:53:33] NeroVision [19:53:33] NeroVision Existing drivers: [19:53:33] NeroVision File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS': Ver=8.0.0.212 , size=2560 bytes, created 8/19/2005 1:00:00 AM [19:53:33] NeroVision File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.71 (0002) built by: WinDDK, size=16512 bytes, created 11/21/2005 1:48:22 AM [19:53:33] NeroVision File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=3.00.09a, size=46080 bytes, created 8/19/2005 1:00:00 AM (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K) [19:53:33] NeroVision Registry Keys: [19:53:33] NeroVision HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option) Can anyone decipher what happened and/or give me any suggestions on what to do or another program(s) (with a download link or site). I'm stumped and frustrated. Please help. Thank you!!
Hi Eastbrook Welcome to aD! Best bet is to post the whole log - it has some more info that can be helpful. From what you gave I can see this Roxio and Nero don't always play well - uninstall Roxio and run the clean tool. Here's a link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml May want to try 4x until your back on track. That would also depend on your drive & media used which the rest of the log will tell us.
Yeah the Nero Vision ones are quite long!!! Okay here's some more suggestions besides uninstalling Roxio from above. Update Nero to this version - 7.0.8.2. Here's link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 Your burner is on the same ide channel as your hard drive. This can sometimes causes problems. At some point you should move this drive to the secondary ide channel w/ the CD Rom. You can set the burner on the master connector and the CD Rom to slave connector. Set the jumpers on the back of the drives to reflect this too. Since you have a little older drive my quess is it's been like this for awhile. Any other burning problems besides this? Ouch! Probably the main culprit of the burn failure. Poor quality to say the least Try switching to Verbatim or Made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell. Since 8x is your drives max take it down to 6x or 4x with better media.
