I recenly read that the Pioneer DVR-100D is a very good drive so I bought it, got my DVD Shrink and installed NERO 6.6.0.8 in hopes of shrinking from my SONY Drive then automatically burning to the PIONEER drive. Well

A>DVD shrink will not automatically burn to NERO upon completion and I am not sure if this matters but
B>In NERO "Choose Recorder" option it shows a little red x next to the Pioneer and the status is Unavailable.

I just updated the Pioneer driver and it did not help. I know this program / version of NERO will intergrate with DVDshrink b/c I installed it on a friends system and it all worked fine with him.

Do you have any suggestions? THanks in advance

hi my name is josh, my advice is dont use dvd shrink .now with the
new burners you can create the movie with nero.go buy dvd-r duallayer
8.5gb you will see the difference ,larger capacity the whole movie
will fit. create folder VIDEO_vts for the whole movie, once this folder
is inserted in DVD-video. the whole movie willshow DVDVIDEO1_DVD,
and then burn to dual layer dvd-r 8.5 you will be amazed
what you can do with the new burners.please dont use dvd shrink
you will not need it. take care and god bless

Extreme11 didn't post about dual layer backups, only single layer.

    To autoburn with dvd shrink:

You'll need nero burning rom.Nero express won't cut it-for the autoburning setup.

Double check 2 settings in dvd shrink:

    First-open up dvd shrink/edit/preferences/file-I/O

Make sure the box that says enable burn with nero is ticked. It's usually ticked as default.

Second: When in the process of your next back up using dvd shrink, look at the screen that pops up when you click the backup tab. Look for Select backup target-and to the right of it is a small v. Click on it,and make sure it lists your burner/model#/and a checkmark for Burn with nero.Your burner model# will then be listed at the backup target.

Double check rest of settings in those backup options/ok/and see if it should autoburn. That combo is a very sweet single layer backup process.

Here's a pic, look where the squiggly red arrow and circle is: That is how you want your drive listed as the backup target-and to burn with nero:

See if those settings got knocked around during the drive swap or addition.

It also wouldn't hurt to double check the IDE cables/power cables/and if the pins on the drive are jumpered correctly. Those cables can wiggle loose from time to time.

    Thanks Saugmon,

When I choose a back up target, I do not get any options to use a burner, it is like NERO or a burner is not even installed. I have burned with this Poineer drive beofore with ROXIO, which I did remove from my system recently. The drive does work and I jsut did a DVD copy with NERO and that worked too. I do not want to sound like a beggar, but please do not give up on me! Thanks for the advice and clear Diagram Saugmon

I'm not sure if you still have roxio and nero on same pc,or if you used to have roxio. Anywho-If you had it on your pc at one time, there may still be remnants left over. Here's a link to the roxizapper:

    http://www.microadvantage.net/downloads/zapper60.zip

Now with your nero6, let's do the same thing. Uninstall nero, and run nero cleantool 6 to completely rid all remnants of nero.

    Here's nero cleantool6:

    http://www.nero.com/nero6/de/Nero_6_Clean_Tool.html

Nero has packets called INCD. Roxio has a packet called Drag to disc. They may conflict with each other.Roxio tends to take over. You want to completely remove them entirely. Run roxi-zapper,then nero cleantool 6.

Then reload nero again, and leave out the INCD packet/s. They are of not much use.

I set up my cousin's new pc with the dvd shrink/nero combo. At first,I downloaded nero express onto his pc-off of an OEM nero disc I had extra. Dvd shrink would not recognize his burner as the target device. I uninstalled nero/ran cleantool 6/and re-downloaded nero burning rom off that oem nero disc. Dvd shrink was able to set his burner as the target device and burn with nero automatically.

That's why I suggested Nero burning rom in my first post.

Are you using an OEM nero6 disc,or downloading it from the net?

INCD will be on those Nero oem discs as well. Also showtime/xpress/burning rom/labeler/and maybe even recode2.

THanks for not giving up on me. THis is so frustrating. I have removed ROXIO with the zapper tool. I even removed Sonic, everything SONIC, amd it still does not work!!! I am using an OEM version that came with a sony drive, however I am donw loading version 6.6.0.18 and that does not work either.

Does it matter that when I go to all programs, under NERO it shows NERO Burning ROM SE as an option? It also shows NERO Express.

As long as you got the nero burning rom SE loaded from your oem disc, you should be set ok.

I'm on 6.6.0.14. Two of my othe pcs have 6.0.0.21b and another pc has 6.3.?.?. All oem discs, and no issues with all of them.

Majority of my issues came when I tried to update my nero 6.0.0.21b to 6.6.?.? a year ago. I used the cleantool 6,reloaded off that oem disc-left out incd, and all is perfect still.

I went looking through nero for nero burning rom. All I have available: Recode2/express/cover designer-everything except nero burning rom. I know it's on there.I noticed it when I downloaded the oem discs the last couple times from 2 different versions.

When you load nero in and the screen pops up saying what you want to download from that nero suite cd- nero burning rom should be towards the top of that page on the screen.
