I have a problem with using Nero when trying to burn a DVD. I have got the DVD files onto the computer using DVD Shrink but when I try to burn them to a DVD, it stops after 30 min. or so.

    Here's the error log:

Your Nero is outdated, upgrade from here
    http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Both need to be on, go here for guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

To burn successfully you need at least 512meg RAM, in the meantime shut down all unecessary progs including spyware and dont multitask. I would look at adding a further 256meg RAM

you are using good media, if you attend to these matters you should soon be up and burning again

Just to add to gwendolin's response.

There are two additional things you should do to guarantee a successful burn:

    1)
    here:
    ***************************************************
    Recorder: <HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4040N>Version: 1.01
    ***************************************************
Your burner's firmware is too old and therefore saverely lacking much need media support that updates provide. In order to ensure that your burner will be able to correctly recognize and write to the media you put in it, you need to keep its firmware upto date.

The current version is 1.04, to get the update just click on the link provided. In the search field enter you burner's model# (GWA-4040N) and click search. Click on the 1.04 choice to get the download, follow the instructions for installation.

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

    2)
    here:
    *********************************************************************
Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
Last address to be written: 2286111 (508:01.36, 4465MB)
    *********************************************************************
You don't want to burn too close to the disk's outer edge, some media can't handle it and so produce write errors (skipping/freezing twards the end of the movie). To avoid this just have shrink or nero's recode produce smaller files sizes of 4300MB. In shrink goto:edit--->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300, in recode you can change it in the lower right hand corner of its window before you process the files.

If all the other changes are also made, you should have no problem with a successful burn.
