Good day. Nero has been the source of all my computer problems lately. Even thought it worked fine as a dvd/cd creator and burner it caused severe system instability therefore being responsible for acute freezes, blocks, and blue screens (LOTS AND LOTS OF THEM, by the minute). It completely destroyed even fresh windows xp installs. I don't know if this is normal, but since i uninstalled the program i only had a blue screen in 2 days, wich was due to a xvid player. With nero I had them all the time including firefox, msn and MS office crashes. So what I ask is: Are there any good replacements or nero versions that wont cause problems like these? I only use nero to burn some ISO's, create data dvds and little more. I only want a program that burns without flaws, i used roxio once but it turned out that the DVD/CD came out full of burning errors.
what edition of nero is it? i have been using nero 8 since it came out and havent had any problems.you say that you still had blue screens after removing nero?possible program conflict maybe.what are you running for security,ie antivirus, spyware etc?
I think one can make a causality relation of this, 'cause even a fresh installation of windows with no internet connection, with a decent anti spyware/virus, the instance I installed nero everything went kaput. Believe me, I tried every possibility. I uninstalled it and now everything works perfectly, only had 1 blue screen due to another program, and I used to have them all the time. Searched the web and found references of nero causing blue screens of death. Nero version was Ahead.Nero.v8.3.2.1 Everything is working fine now, just need a good program that stands up to nero.
I am actually trying imgburn and it seams quite good. I'll try dvd flick in a sec. Thanks for your good help, as always.
here is an older guide : http://beginwithsoftware.com/videoguides/dvd-flick-guide.html The guide is for an older version(did not support menus at that time). Here's an update version: http://www.dvdflick.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=534
