Good evening, I have been burning using Nero for along time now, and I know my way a computer when it comes to problems like these, so I have tried many methods to get my AVI files to burn with Nero vision, but most of just time consuming (like convert my AVI to MPEG then burn) and I just want a reason why I can't get this to work like it should. I run Nero Vision 4.7.0.4 (I have even tried a newer version on the same machine) I select "Make DVD..." > "DVD-Video", following the "To Convert AVI to DVD with Nero Vision 4 (basic guide)" closely. When I get to the part when I click "Add Video Files..." select my AVI file, and open it the "Total space used:" blue bar fills up to just under 4.38 GB and then Nero Vision Freezes completely. At the point Nero Vision is not responding at all. I thought that perhaps Nero was just slow and was loading data, my CPU usage is not stuck at 100% so nothing is really happening. I left my computer in this state and went to work for 5 hours. Came home and nothing had changed so I just gave up and closed it. This isn't a new problem for me, I have had this for along time now, and even had it before I formated my computer, so it must be something I did that has caused this problem. Two different versions of Nero Vision give me this problem. Could my codex be the problem? I use Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2006-12-15. I would love to try any method and suggestions given. Please try and help me with my problem. Thanks.
I went to the site http://www.cccp-project.net/ for my codex and I downloaded the codec pack Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2007-07-22 All is working now... I guess my problem was exactly what I thought! I hope other people can learn from my stupidity.
I am using Nero 7.5.0.2 I seemed to have fixed my problem though. It was the codex on my computer. I should have actually tried that before posting. Hopefully my post will help other people.
