When I use Vision to compile/burn a dvd, it always plays back with constant stutter (like the fps are too slow)...if I use Avi2Dvd or Convertxtodvd, it plays back very smooth...what's the problem?

it's the program...... it's the media... take your pick..... or could be a mixture of both! I have seen disks of poor quality do the stuttering, freezing, pixelation, skipping thing and using better media cured this. I have seen stuttering caused by different programs and when using other programs I have corrected this problem! find the better program to do what you need to do and then use good media and that's a formula for success!

It's not the media since other programs work fine using the same media...so I guess it's Nero but you would think a program like that wouldn't have a problem like this...

When you say playback, do you mean playing from the burned DVD or watching the video in NV4?

If you are seeing this in NV4, it seems to do that. After burning, it should be normal (except maybe the sound), especially with .avi files.

If you are seeing this after a burn, you may need to set the burn quality settings. Since they are set automatically, because of the amount of material or some other reason, they may be set too low. You can check this by holding the mouse over the video files on the video files.

Also check and make sure the DMA is turned on for your drives.

I am having this problem. It's like every second playback freezes for a second. I have a batch of Taiyo's coming tommorrow. I'll have a go on them. I'll also try burning at high quality settings.
