I'm really hoping you can help me because, I've tried everything I can think of. I've been using Nero Vision Express for ages without a problem but I tried the Nero 7 demo and everything went wrong. It wouldn't burn a dvd. I tried unintalling it and going back to my previous version. I've used the clean tools and reinstalling it loads of times, but I'm getting nowhere. Thanks for replying so quickly. I did actually read that thread and install that version you sugested, so i don't know why the 6.6.1.4 version is still showing up. I did notice when I used the clean tools that the driver clean tool always says there is no driver to clean and the registry checker doesn't really do anything that I can see. So I don't know if its not cleaning it properly for some reason. I will try it again though.
Hi, I've tried it again as I said and still got the same result. Including it showing up the Nero API version: 6.6.1.4, but I installed the 6.6.0.18 as suggested. I also uninstalled and reinstalled my dvd drive (its an external PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-108) incase there was a problem there, but no luck. I really do appreciate you help.
Hello. Your firmware is way out of date, the latest one is 1.20. Get it from here: http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/file/DVR108_FW120B.EXE On the first quote it looks like the drive doesn't like/recognize the media... But on the second quote, as you can see, your drive specifically recognizes the disc... Odd... MCC media is good stuff... Should be 2x, or 4x not 2.4x... As for the 'upgrade', just run the 6.6.0.18.exe, install it and then run your favorite registry cleaner... Don't worry about the clean tool thinghy... I done that when i downgraded and had no probs with it... Also, after you do the Vision Express conversion, i would save it to the HDD and then burn it to the disc manually... That way you won't have to waste time re-doing the whole process if it goes wrong...
Hi, thanks for all your help. I tried to update the firmware but for some reason it didn't work. But it is working now despite that. I've managed to burn three things since, so its looking good. So thanks again, you stopped me from pulling all my hair out.
@tashamatt I think we have the same drive - while everywhere on the pc it is listed as a dvr 108 that firmware never works. Are you receiving the drive not found bit? If so this is the one I use - here's a link: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1899 It's best to keep the firmware up to date - for one thing it helps the drive with the read and write strategies of media. This should help cut down burn failures due to media.
