Hello. I recently got a Memorex DVD Double-Layer Recorder 16x16 Dual Format Internal for my birthday. I also use the most recent versions of Nero (Nero 7 and Nero Vision 4) along with a DVD+R when I try to burn my video. The problem is, when I try to burn my video with Nero Vision, it will get about anywhere from 20-45 minutes into the video and then my computer will freeze and I will have to shut it down. I can't even go to my Task Manager! I have no viruses and I don't leave any other programs open while I'm doing this. I'm not sure if it's my settings or not. Also, the only program I use to attempt to burn this is Nero Vision under the "DVD-Video". My DMA settings are working properly. The only settings I change under Nero Vision are the following: Under "Video Options" Video Mode-NTSC Quality Settings-Highest Quality Encoding Mode-High Quality(2-Pass VBR) Burn to Destination: Memorex DVD+-RAM 510L v1 Burning Speed: 8x Book Type Setting: DVD-ROM I also have a log that shows the last time I tried to burn it which will be below. I hope that someone can help!
You seem to be burning a very large file (4.37 out of 4.38 GB). What does the graph show as far as DVD usage when you are setting it up? Where did you get this number? Is that all of your log?
Yes this is a video taping of a play I was in at school...it was pretty long. I didn't change anything, all I did was deleted my log from before so it would make a new one, and when my computer froze I copied this whole thing.
You might check to see if you have a NeroHistory log, probably in your Core directory. It has some more information about your configuration and may give some additional information about the problem. Why do you change the settings of NTSC? Is that your normal mode and the program used PAL? Do you have the Ultra or Premium edition of Nero 7? You might also go back to automatic settings for the quality, or try lowering it to see if it will burn.
