Soo I was happily using Nerovision until I had this spyware. So I naturally ran system restore which took my pc state back to a month ago. So i reinstalled my nerovision and Nero 6 but when I burn a dvd using (.AVI) it goes a bit different. First of all, when the .avi is getting encoded before it gets burned, it goes alot quicker. The whole process of encoding the .avi and burning it took like 3 hours or so but now it only takes around an hour for the whole process. When I put it in to my dvd player, the movie starts skipping and freezing. I checked some stuff and I noticed that the encoding speed was super fast and 1 pass. Maybe that's the problem? ..I need some help lol.

Freezing and skipping has nothing to do with Nero Vision. Sounds like a media and or burning issue to me. What kind of media (MID) are you using? How fast did you burned?

I tried burning at 8x then 4x. Still the same result. How come it takes like half the time to encode and burn the dvd now? My movies started skipping as soon as the burning and encoding process went faster.

Again, what media are you using? Skipping and freezing is likely due to inferior media and burning issue.

Get DVD Identifier here (FREE) and try to verify what's the MID on those media. Are those DVD+R 16X by chance? What's the last time you updated your firmware? And if there's one available, then it's wise to update to the latest. When you said; "skipping and freezing," how bad was it?

Your last culprit could be the AVI file itself, if it's not the media and burning issue. Try to post a log of that backup if you can.

Here's an example of mine when verifying my MID via DVD Identifier:
