    Hi Everyone. I have been using the basic guide on this site to convert an AVI file to DVD-Video. I've had limited success unfortunately. Occasionally I get a good result but when I'm not getting audio-video synch problems, I come up against the following really irritating problem:
    I add the AVI file and the file is described as "Total space used: 4.37 out of 4.38GB (Quality: Very Good)". However, when Nero Vision has finished and I go to Nero Burning Rom I discover I have ended up with a VIDEO_TS folder much larger than the 4.37GB (usually just less than 6GB) and it won't burn because it won't fit on the DVD.
    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    (I'm using a trial version 7.2.3.2)

    Hi Tolek93
    For downloaded .avi's in this version of Nero - I've noticed about a ½ gig difference in the file size.
    In this version the default audio is usualyy LPCM which would probably account for your end file size. So you can change that back to 'automatic'.

    This version of Vision for me is faster than previous versions but still has a few glitches in transcoding downloaded .avi's. I've had no audio sync problems though.

    Another option for you is to use a previous version - 7.0.8.2.
    Slower for me but doesn't blowup the file size as much.
    You can uninstall nero (write down your serial 1st), run the clean tool then download 7.0.8.2 from here (use your serial #)

    Not tried it yet but I might have a go later in the week. Some other threads on this forum seem to indicate that the latest versions of Nero are to blame for synchronisation problems so I will try an earlier version and see if the other problem goes away too

    I've seen this for sale pretty cheap: Ahead Nero Express v6.6 - OEM
    I'm assuming this should do what I want (ie video DVDs).

    @Tolek93
    Try and see what happens w/ that version.
    There have been reports of out of sync audio problems w/ Vision in Nero 7 for quite a few versions may even go back to the original version 7.

    Not just blaming Nero (though it seems to have more issues w/ this in 7) but audio sync can be a fairly common problem w/ downloaded avi's. They can be stored in different ways. But I'm no avi expert by far.

    For Nero 6 try this version - 6.6.0.18. You'll need to uninstall 7 (serial may be good w/ this version - write it down b/4 uninstalling)
