I used Nero vision to change over and burn a couple movies into mpeg-2 format to play in my DVD player. The one movie was originally an xvid file and plays fine on my dvd player but the other file was a mpeg-4 dvd rip (320x240) and it wont play on my dvd player but plays on my PS2 (but the PS2 plays pretty much everything..). I thought the program was supposed to convert everything to the same file, how come it didnt play my other movie? Also, when I downloaded that mpeg-4 movie it said it was ripped into an ipod format for my ipod. Would that mess up the conversion??? THANKS!!!!!

If NeroVision accepted the files, converted, and burned it should be OK. Sometimes the media used, the burn speed, and burner firmware can make a difference as to whether a standalone will play it. Did you do everything the same way and use the same media and burn speed for both disks. NVE isn't the besy converter around either. Many around here use ConvertXtoDVD. It's fast and does a good job. It has a free trial but watermarks the output.
