Hi, im using nero visions to make a video - just a homemade video using a handycam with a bunch of friends doing stupid things. I have a few questions regarding things i can do with the software. First off, I wanted to know if there is anyway to freeze the movie durring a certain part and have voices go on. Next, I want to be able to just add a plain picture in, preferably in jpg format. I havent been able to find a way to do that though, can you freeze on a picture and just have voices going on? Lastly, I need a good way to do the credits, i want to do just a black screen and i can use the credits text modifier, but i dont have a 4 minute video of nothing =\ what can i do? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
I think for the freeze a frame and the audio continuing, you would have to record the audio separately and then turn the audio down on the original. Then use a frame capture to make a small video you could insert where you wanted (this may need to be a slide show). Getting the audio to sync back up may be a problem, but you might be able to use the second audio track for that. The picture should be just about the same thing, you could make a video or maybe a slide show using the same picture several times and insert into the editing timeline where you wanted. As far as the credits go, in the Text Effects, there is a credit selection which rolls the text. It can be made longer if you want, but you may have to zoom in to be able to grab and pull it longer, or you can do that in the properties area. Once inserted, go to properties and type in your text and change the length and other stuff.
I tried all this stuff last night and it worked in NV4 -- don't know about NVE 3. Make a slide show with a photo or a captured frame. You do that by doing a separate project in NVE 3 and Create a slide show. You can adjust how long each photo stays visible, so use that, plus how ever many additional photos you need to make the time the way you want (you can shorten, but not lengthen the clip on the timeline). Then export it, which will make it into an .mpg. Go back to the original project and import it into the asset window on the editing page. Now, cut the video in the editing timeline where you want the photo and itsert it. Watch for the red outline box to show you where it will go, and it might be a little hard to see, so zoom in. The sound was easy, just hit the record button and you get an exact duplicate of the original sound. You can add it to one or both of the additional audio tracks and move it as necessary. If you want to change the volume on one section, you have to split that section off and then you can change it in the properties window. I had my 3 audio streams offset so you could hear them talking over each other. Something I noticed, if you want to cut all the tracks at the same place, you can hold down CTRL and select the additional ones you want to cut, or just select one and the others won't be cut.
