I have downloaded avi movies. They play great in Windows Media Player. When I watch and/or burn them using Nero Essentials 7(software came with Sony DVD R/W drive), they are very pixelated. I believe there is a codec problem, but I am not sure. Hope someone can help me.
You save the output from Nero to a folder, the video is pixelated when played back. If you play the output from the folder using VLC, (uses it's own filters) is it pixelated. Use DVD Flick to convert the avi file (it uses it's own codecs). Play it back from the output folder and see if it's ok. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/vlc.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_flick.cfm
Code: It plays beautifully on VLC If the output from Nero plays ok with VLC, then it is a good conversion. Play the DVD using VLC, if it's pixelated - it's probably caused by poor media or too high a burn speed.
I did not convert it using Nero. I just played the original avi file. I should be more specific. I play the movie in Nero Vision and it is pixelated. I burn the movie to dvd and it looks the same way on my stand alone dvd player as it did in Nero Vision before the conversion.
