    I bought the Nero package from a nearby store. It contains: Media Player, BackItUp, Cover Designer, Nero Express, Nero PhotoShow Elite, Nero ToolKit, NeroVision Express 2, Nero Recode, Nero Showtime, and its Nero SmartStart.

    In anycase, I'm having a really hard time understanding its interface and practically all of its features. I usually find these kinds of programs very self explanatory... but I am yet to FIND one thing I agree on with this program. So far, it appears you can't remove the small video caption boxes(buttons for DVD menu), you can't remove the ugly NUMBERS ; 1., 2., 3. that sit large by your video clips when you insert them to the DVD title menu--I've also noticed you CAN'T CREATE MORE PAGES. Please, if someone understands this program, I beg for your help. I just recently had to up my RAM to run this program albeit 18 GB uncompressed video files. Only barely was I able to import all of the videos and pictures I needed. By the time I was ready to set up the menu I couldn't undestand the chapters and how adjusting the Layout of your DVD menu shrinks all captions onto one page.

    I'd like it to look like this:

    Root:
    DVD Menu -> (Options) -> Play Movie, Outtakes, Credits, Commentary

    Page:
    Outtakes -> Clip 1, Clip 2, Clip 3, etc.

    Page:
    Credits -> No MOVIE CLIPS--JUST background sound and image!

    Page:
    Commentary -> (Options) -> Name 1, Name 2

    Page:
    Commentary (Name 1) -> NO MOVIE CLIPS--JUST background sound and image!

    Page
    Commentary (Name 2) -> NO MOVIE CLIPS--JUST background sound and image!

    I'm yet to figure out how to do this. Help appreciated.

    I'm sorry but I couldn't do this on a Nero Vision 4 so you wouldn't be able to do it on a Nero Vision 2.

    Why? They give you the ability to create a DVD menu... with tons of missing features? Pretty pathetic. It's Fusion Reborn btw.

    (rofl) I paid $167 for the full Nero package and it isn't even up to date? I just tried downloading the demo of Nero 7 and it's telling me to uninstall all of my Nero products? What's this crap?

    This program also has a habit of freezing excessively during loads and imports. I can't even work with it. I'll import videos, save it to be safe and then when I try to reopen it loads for several minutes and then locks up. I try to move the screen and get a (Not Responding) tag across the window boarder, so then I'm forced to force-close it. It can't be my RAM, I installed another 512MB, which makes 1GB OF RAM. In order to use this shitty program I need to spend another $400-500 on hardware/components? Really now.

    EDIT: Locks up -> (Not Responding) when entering 'Create Chapters' mode.

    EDIT: NeroVision.exe - Application Error
    The instruction at "*******" referenced memory at "*******". The memory could not be read."
    Clock on OK to terminate the program.

    Commit Charge: 353M/1697M

    IS THIS A RAM ISSUE? Sounds like it, but the new RAM stick doesn't seem to be stopping this from screwing up.

    EDIT: Program will close without reason or messages.

    Col65,

    Like 3dluis, I've never been able to figure out a way to organize the menus the way I want them.

    But I can change/remove the numbers/labels for the menu buttons. In NeroVision, there is a screen where you can customize the menus. One option is for the buttons. A suboption for that is called "text and numbering" and the options for it are: text only, number only or both. I hope NeroVision Express has the same. FWIW you can also have neither if you select text only then make the text for each a space.

    NeroVision seems to be a very basic program and I assume Express is even more basic. Option wise NeroVision even falls way behind the free Windows Movie Maker (but that can't burn DVDs).

    I don't mean to knock NeroVision. Because of its Smart-Encoding, its a good choice for editing stuff out of DVDs created with a set-top DVD recorder.... as long as you don't need to do much else.

    Try a alternate DVD maker, although, I don't have a clue which.

    I've used Ulead and Pinnacle and Premier Elements. They all have strengths and weaknesses and they all will drive you crazy with simple things they can't do. I use them all but for different kinds of projects. I expected to like Elements a lot but was pretty disapointed. If I had to have just one I guess I hate Pinnacle the least ;-)

    Thanks, RLyon. I managed to get it somewhat the way I wanted it. Anyway, you mentioned you can edit the numbering? I'm yet to find this editing page. Text, (photo icon), all that, from what I see, is only editable in the Properties menu.
