sherrilyn, I can do what you want to do with five programs: 1] TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 2] TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 3] DvdShrink 3.2 4] Nero 5] Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 Use #1 to convert the .avi file to a "good" mpeg file that # 2 likes. This will also take care of your "more PAL than NTSC " problem. TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6, #2 will put in it`s own menus, and create DVD compatible files. But you can use #3 to strip them out before burning to a disc. Use #4 to burn your files with to a DVD-RW. Use #5 to edit your disc "to cut out chunks of the video that I want edited out" #5 Ulead outputs its own files that you will need to use Nero to reburn your final version to a DVD.
Can I recode and put on a dual layer disc with Nero Vision? Example: I have 13 TV show episodes. Each about 42 mins in length, exceeding the normal 2 hr DVD video capacity. When I add them to Nero Vison it says they exceed the length but can be compressed and if not I need to use DVD-9. (Actually I've been doing 3 episodes at a time for better image quality) But I'd like to put 4 on a disc, so would using a dual layer disc make it work right? Then I would have them fully uncompressed and could use DVD Shrink to put them on regular DVD discs to give out. Its an unreleased series otherwise I'd just do the commercial discs. Thanks.
