Does anyone know why I can't burn iTunes now that I have installed nero7 ultra? I get an "unknown error message" from iTunes. I did a diagnostic and it told me the following: Unsupported CD or DVD drive. Virtual drives can sometimes interfere with reading and writing CDs in iTunes. If this is a virtual drive and you are having problems with other drives, try uninstalling the virtual CD application. Needless to say I have tried uninstalling & installing and a whole bunch of othe stuff, but it still does not work. I am also having some trouble with viewing some files from the internet. That may have something to do with Norton or Windows Defender I am not sure. If they are related, please let me know. Thank you.

it could possibly be that nero's driver may have somehow interfered with your CD Burning drivers used by iTunes. also, you could always just make a playlist in iTunes, save it and open it in nero and then burn from that

I am going through this now. It appears installing Nero 7 will remove one or more registry entries needed by iTunes to burn CDs. I always get a message when I start iTunes about how some registry entries are missing, and it will not burn a CD.

What I must decide, is whether reinstalling iTunes will fix iTunes without messing up Nero's ability to burn. I think I know where the registry entry is, but not sure.

After a couple of hours-----I have now used the Control Panel Add/Remove programs to Repair my iTunes install. Currently iTunes is burning CDs and Nero is still burning DVDs. So I would have to say repairing the iTunes install is OK.

Saltgrass, you are a genius. It worked! I just burned an audio CD from iTunes. I hope future use of nero won't mess things up again. It seems like ever since I installed nero 7 funny little things have been going wrong with my PC. Thanks again for your help.
