Can someone help me figure out why Nero wont insert Avi's to be burnt. I'm using the latest one. I've even used the nero cleaner to reinstall everything and nothing has worked.

    thanks

impie, are you trying to burn the avi as a dvd to play in your dvd player?

If so you need to run it through NeroVisionExpress first to encode it into VOB files etc. as an avi file is not a dvd compliant format.

I used tmpgenc xpress and it said it couldnt open up the video part just the audio, I'm installing codecs to see if that fixes anything.

I tried to convert it last night but the file had no sound on it.

I just put the file in GSpot and it said it was an Mpeg4. What do I do with it now?

    Get the DivX mpeg-4 codec.
Microsoft also has one, as does Krystal.
    They're free.

I have Nero. Is it that simple to convert AVI to VOB files to be backed up? I have never done that but will try it out tonight. Any guides would be appreciated. Thank you.
