Hello, I have Nero 6 Proffesional and a dell lattitude laptop. Whenever I try to burn an avi file over 4.5 gigs it tells me that I have to manually reduce the file size. I have no idea how to do that. Is there actually a way to make my file size smaller through nero?

that's a big avi file...why not load it with nero vision and burn it to your hard drive, then reload it with nero recode or dvd shrink it.

2 Q's for ya one are you using nero burning rom or nero vision cause if you use nero vision it will reconfigure the file size for you....but if you only have nero rom then i will have to get back to you cuz you have to change the burn type in your settings so i will find where the option is to change in nero...but i would just suggest vision it works tyhe easiest atleast i think any ways

Are you trying to burn the avi as a data DVD or are you trying to convert it to DVD movie files? That is one big AVI you got there...

If you are using Nero then you can adjust the bit rate and that will allow you to fit it to a DVD5,

open NeroVisionExpress, R/C more, R/c Default options and you should get something like this

muck around (reduce) with bit rate til you get it right.
