I am really new to this I have a Sony dru-710a burner with nero software that came with it I downloaded some mpg files and am trying to burn to dvd-rw I have tried a few different discs and none seem @gzan - i've rifled thru your logfile and highlighted the things that jumped out and bit me - - there's a version BYX4 dated 4th May 2005 here - http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/firmware.htm#700 - get DMA set on that MSI drive - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html - 0MB - eh ?? that can't be right. hmmm..... - found a couple of opinions on this media - "I bought a 25 pack of Memorex DVD+RW. They are Infodisc A10 and don't burn worth a crap" "I too have the INFODISC A10 media. Others here have posted that they're junk media" but i found a positive opinion - "I bought two brands of +RW at newegg that burn very well. Legacy 4X and Fuji 4X. The Legacy is InfodiscA10 and the Fuji is RICHOHJPNW11. Both are very nice +RWs." Virtually straight away i see this - Basically, as this is rewritable media i wouldn't worry about whether the media is any good or not at this point; I'd be inclined to get the DMA sorted on the MSI drive, then get the firmware updated on the burner, then give it another whirl..
when you click through nerovisionexpress,you will see the options on the right hand side,if your burner is selected,change it, write to a hard disk folder of your choice,(make a new one on the desktop)
You might also want to go to the Nero website and download the latest update which I believe is dated for May 27th.
