When I read all this problems people have with Nero, I wonder why anyone bothers to buy it. Has this forum ever thought of inviting Nero to comment, obviously their customers are not happy.
I have had Nero now for a few years, apart from the odd mishap[usually my own fault or impatience]and I am quite happy. And, when I contact Nero with a problem, they good in responsing.
Most of these selfappointed "Nero Gurus" are stating most of the time the blooming obvious as to fixes.

Im not a nero guru, but i play one on TV.. :) Just kidding,
Many times the blooming obvious has to be stated to get fixes.

I didnt notice any self appointments going on. If so, id like to self-appoint myself as Overlord Master of cyberspace..

We do what we can here, working for FREE, trying to help ANYBODY who has a problem and asks for help. It works for many ppl, and i think that is the main draw of this place for many. You have ppl sitting around waiting for you to ask a question that needs answered to fix a problem. The response here is much faster in many cases than going to Nero itself.
Its an Unofficial support forum as the title states.
Heres the way i feel about nero.
I like Nero, it reminds me of an ex-wife i had. Tempermental, cranky, un-forgiving, cold, calculating, psychotic, but sweeeeet when everything was perfect..:)

It's not Nero that is the problem, it's that people are doing the wrong thing with Nero, DMA off, burning to fast etc. Nero is a great burning program.

I agree with GlueEater. Sorry If original message sounded arrogant, no offence was intended, and Gwendolyn, BURDEN?
I thought you give advice voluntarily and happily, how can it be a BURDEN then?

I think what Gwedolin was trying to say was, why don't you help out? If you have no problems using Nero and have recieved support from Nero, you must have the knowledge to lend a helping hand to all these poor souls that are ready to pull their hair out.

I often wonder the same thing myself, and have recently been suggesting other freeware apps for burning, such as DVD Decrypter or Imgburn...right here in the Nero forum. I use Nero and have no problems with it myself.

Do you know how many Nero forums there are on the internet? AD is just one of many, they are not the "official" Nero support.

Those are just a few, and who knows how many are out there just labeled Video authoring or DVD help which offer support for Nero products.

I also agree with Mr. Eater, we just simply help point the users in the right direction with general computing skills regarding Nero. And if you are referring to Creaky (the Nero-Nator), he didn't self proclaim that title, it was given to him by all the people who appreciate his help in resolving their problems.

Hmm, self appointed gurus, there's a sweeping & uninformed statement if ever I saw one.
Glad you think the fixes are obvious, I guess you should spend a bit of time in the nero section deciphering the logs for folk.

Well if that is how it is going to be, I would leave now. We are all here of our own free time, if you can do better, then by all means you can take the reins & give everyone a break.
We all work together here as a team, we all have our strengths & weaknesses, but we respect each other. Sometimes we make mistakes & we all have a laugh, but only in the good way!

    [bold]So nice to be appreciated![/bold]

If you hadn't noticed, we all stick together....
