I recently rebuilt my computer with a new motherboard and Athlon 64 processor. Like a kid in a candy store, I grabbed a new box of blank DVDs and ran home to run a few thru DVD Decrypter. But I keep getting this "end of Disc-at-once" error. I have tried two different brands of blanks (Memorex and Imation), defragmented the hard drive, and reloaded Nero, but the problem continues. What gives??? ********** Nero Recode 2 ********** Version: 2.0.0.18 1A20************************* Project type: Copy entire DVD Target size: DVD5 (2282925) Burn settings: Target: TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R5272 Number of copies: 1 Write speed: 11080 KB/s Temp folder: C:\Documents and Settings\Jennifer\My Documents\Nero Recode (80667607040 bytes free) Direct burning: false Target media: DVD Shutdown when finished: false Advanced Analysis: false 22:34:26 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 235 Compile DVD: init VMG Menus Vobs [33 vobus] 5.91MB -> 3.97MB [R 0.00] Video: 3.68MB, extra: 0.29MB Audio: 1 streams 0. WOO HOO! No one would answer my pleas for help, so I kept plugging away until I figured it out. My DVD burner had mysteriously set to PIO. I had to uninstall the driver and reboot before it would let me switch to DMA. I also downloaded every update I could find from Nero, and downloaded aspi4.71.2 to boot. Well one of (all of?) them worked. Not sure which because I threw the whole gamut in at once for good measure. Just happy I can burn again!
good find re the DMA/PIO settings. have gone thru rest of logfile anyway - - Nero's too old, latest 6.x version is 6.6.0.18, download "update package 1" from here - http://ww2.nero.com/enu/nero-up.php - 4467MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space - what can i say, these are some of the most awful atrocious, utter rubbish dvd media you can buy, and you bought them! (sorry but they're awful, glance at my signature where CMC discs play the starring roles) - see previous comment. they may work now but they'll most likely let you down sooner rather than later
I cannot argue your point about the crappy DVDs. I bought them in a pinch at Wally World, and got what I paid for. Once this box is gone...never more! Hey thanks for the update info and other comments as well! I'll download that ASAP. I've been using DVD Decrypter and burning with Nero Recode, but I would seriously like to find a good, easy to use editing program. I had been using DVDXCopy, and really like the way it pruned the crap out and left just the movie. This place has loads of useful info!
