While attempting to write a DVD to my hard drive using Nero Vision the program begins the process of transcoding and creating menus and then fails after about 1 minute. I then get the following: NeroVision.exe Application error - The instruction at "0x00348d9e" referenced memory at 0x01553950. The memory could not be "read". I am running Nero 7 Ultra Edition (version 7.5.9.0a)and Windows XP. I burned several DVD's the day before this happened with no problems. The only thing that I can think of that was causing this to happen was that I updated my Internet Explorer web browser from IE6 to IE7 between the time I burned successfully and the time that I started getting this error. So, thinking that IE7 must be causing Nero Vision to crash I uninstalled IE7 and tried again. No success. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling Nero, again with no success. I have spent hours googling this problem with no success, does anyone out there have any suggestions?
Any chance you have a bad file NV4 is trying to read? You might try removing anything you have in the titles section and load something else to see if you can get the program to run. I have seen that message on my setup occasionally.
I tried burning a different project with NV4 and it worked fine. I deleted the failed project and recreated it and got the same error. It seems to fail as soon as it finishes transcoding the first title and before it starts on the second. Any ideas how to get it to burn?
It sounds like you have a bad file if it works if you aren't using that one. All I might suggest is to experment to see if one is bad, or try getting a fresh copy of the files.
My project had 4 slideshows and one video. I tried burning the project taking out one of the 5 items trying to isolate the bad file to one of the slideshows or the video. It did not work. No matter which individual item I removed I still could not burn the project with Nerovision. I exported the slideshows that I created in NV to a folder and made the DVD menu's using Adobe Premiere Elements. I gave up on NV.
I am having the same problem with Nero Vision. I have tried looking for corrupted files without success. Although my references are different, the application fails because the memory could not be read. I am wondering if a recent XP update or patch could be the culprit. It's very frustrating.
