system 2.2G 768mb ram windows xp home when burning a project to disc halfway through the transcoding process the dvd writer ejects the disk then nerovision express appears to shut down even though in task manager processes it appears to be still running although I am unable to find it. This makes it impossible to create a log to share here. This is not a one off as it seems to be happening all the time recently. I am using taiyo yuden discs so I don't they are the problem. Any advice would me most welcome. thanks in advance
Hi, What version of nero are you using? A few tips...turn off internet, disable antivirus, firewall, any unnecessary programs while burning (do in that order).
Hi, Your current version of nero is buggy. My suggestion is to go back to version 6.6.0.18 which was the last version of nero in 6 to be stable write down your nero serial number before doing any changes...see my recommendation below: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html Run the clean tool to completely remove your current version of nero, reboot and use the links below to get the known stable version of nero. http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe edit out your serial number before someone pirates it (you should see the little notepad to the upper right corner of your post, click it to edit post).
Thanks for your help matt72 I have followed your recommendations except for installing nerovision express 3 as it doubles the size of my files when I try to write them to disc and also it takes hours and hours to burn. Is my version of nerovision express 2.1.2.16 ok and if not is it possible to get a better version? cheers
Hi, The version of nero vision express 3 is by far the best version on 6 I have used. Perhaps someone else will chime in if they know of a better one. To be honest it will take anywhere from 3 hours to encode and burn to disc (that being my initial assessment of you currently having 766mb or ram). As far as it doubling the size of your files that is where nero recode can compress the 'over-sized' file to fit on a standard 4.7gb blank dvd.
I understand what you're saying however with nerovison express 2 it doesn't double the size and can burn a dvd in approximately 30 mins. Why do you think there is such a difference? I have asked the question before regarding the doubling of size e.g. if the file size is 1.5G why does it become 3G when it has been transcoded? I never received a satisfactory answer and have seen other people on the forum with the same problem.
