first off, this program rocks and is very simple to use which authors and transcodes all file-types to the DVD format which makes the burn process very simple. I'd like to hear opinions as to why it is not so great? THink there is a better program? Let me hear it! Seems like NVE does it all and has all the options one one need to author and burn a great DVD.
As with any other encoder, if your source file is acceptable quality, with CBR audio, the right framerate, and aspect ratio, it does a reasonable job. If anything about the source is not "fit" for Nero's input parameters, Nero can make a total mess of it. This is true of all "one-click" type of applications, and most standalone encoders. If you like Nero, try Ulead DVD Workshop, Sony Vegas movie studio 4, et al.
