I have read a lot of different posts, but I have yet to see anyone with the same problem as I have.
In short I simply cannot get Nerovision to start...?!?
I have tried a lot of different versions but none of them wil start on my home PC. When I open Task Manager Nerovision.exe appears in the process-list for a few seconds, but then it shuts itself down again... no error message or nothing - it just shuts down..!

    I'm running a self-build system:
Intel P4 3,2 MHz PreScott model
    ASUS P5GDC DeLuxe Motherboard
    1024 Mb Kingston RAM
    Matrox Parhelia AVPe 128 Mb
    Plextor DVD-R 16xspeed

I have seen a lot of impressive data readouts but I don't know how to do that. If it's needed for someone to help me, please advise me on how to do that!

The most peculiar thing about it is, that Nerovision (version 7.0.1.4. Premium Edition) is running like a charm on my brand new Laptop (HP dv4335EA)...???

Does anyone have a suggestion to, what may be causing this problem..?

    Kind regards,
    Whakatane

That would seem to suggest there is a conflict with something on your system. Try ending all processes that are not needed before runing it. If you can not figure out what to end google for enditall2 and run it to end them before runing. If it runs then you will need to track down what the conflict is. Also is there anything such as intel app excelorator runing on this system that is not on the new laptop?

It's also possible that the file you installed may of been corrupt, or something may of gone wrong with the install itself. Disconnect from the net and disable any antivirus software you may be running and.....

    Try this:
Completely uninstall nero from your system using the nero general cleantool found here:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html

After the uninstall is complete, install version 7.0.1.4b, here's the link for the download:

    Thank you for your answers.

johnl123: Yes I have tried using the Nero Cleantool more than once. But most recently I simply formatted my HDD and reloaded my basic Ghost image, which has no burner software installed.

whompus: I have just tried using EndItAll2 and not even when I have shut down every possible application running will NeroVision run...! It is exactly as before: It starts for a second or two (though it only appears in the task manager) and then terminates itself again.

All the other Nero products works fine, but NeroVision apparently has some sort of grudge against me...
I have been thinking if it could be a codec conflict, but I have installed the same programs on both computers (WMP-10, PowerDVD 6, SLD Codecpack 2.2).
Could it be related to my DVD-drive or perhaps my graphics card?

I guess it could. It could also be related to directx. Do you know if you have at least dx 9.0b loaded on the computer it does not run on. I would guess with wmp 10 you do. But one never knows.

    DirectX 9.0c is installed.
The only software difference between my laptop and my home PC is, that I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 on the home PC and Windows XP Home Edition SP2 on the laptop. Could that be an issue?
I have just tried to uninstall the various codecs but that didn't work either :-(

I really don't know what else to try. I bought this PC to be sort of a multimedia powerplant, so it's a bit of a dissapointment that I can't use it as such...

whakatane, I had a similar problem with NV. I corrected my problem by repairing the install.

start->programs->nero7ultra->nero productsetup->modify your nero products-> then select next and follow prompts.

    Hi again!
I think I've finally figured it out...
I formatted my Hdd, installed Windows XP Pro SP2, and installed Nero 7.0.1.4 as the first thing and FINALLY Nerovision worked :)
BUT when I installed the newest version of drivers for my graphics card Nerovision wouldn't start anymore..!
Problem solved. Thank you for your suggestions/advice.
    Over and out,
    Whakatane ;-)
