Net Speed / A-Link Roadrunner 44

    Ok, heres the deal.. I bought an internet connection from Elisa (it´s a company), they say that it is 8Mb/1Mb. But i cant download any faster than 400 kb/s, even though it is 8Mb. No firewall is on, tried downloading from different places.

    Could it be about my ADSL -box? I can get into settings of it, but I dont really know much about those things.

    If theres somebody wiser than me, well help seriously needed.

    And sorry for my crappy english.

    your english is a lot better than from some people born english speaking!! does this adsl use the telephone line & if so, how close is the nearest switching station for telephone lines??

    It does use a telephone line and the hole where I put this thing aint so far away (didnt get what you ment with witching station for telephone lines).

    switching station is a building that all the phone lines go into in cities & towns
