i have a Lenovo s10 net book with X P on it and it has on board ram of 1 gig with a spare slot to upgrade so i installed a 2 gig ddr2 Lexar ram that supports 800mhz all pc2 6400 667mhz 5300 533mhz 4200 speeds when i install this and boot up with the steps provided when upgrading by Lenovo the monitor does not boot on but the system seems too when i remove the ram it works fine why is this by the way its brand new ram not used
supposedly according to this link http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/lenovo-s10.aspx?mode=specs you can only upgrade to max of 1.5gig of ram not 3gig you have. i think it needs to be same speed of ram as that 1 gig you have now presumably pc2 5300 not pc2 6400.
sucks u cant use 1 gig cuz 1 gig onbard would make 2 gig total if i could instead of a 512 in the only slot available and yes i know the speed i need i called lenovo i need the 667mhz 5300 ddr2 but that reads same for 1 and 512
the bios & motherboard circuitry is configured to read max of 1.5gig of ram. you had pc2 6400 667mhz in your 1st post which is why i said pc2 5300 ram.
if yours is just the s10 not s10-2 to s10-3t then can run win7 as this is the link for xp\win7 drivers. http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=43
