Hey there folks. How are ya? Anyways here is my issue. I have had this computer of mine for a few years now and it has worked great. No over heating, no crashing, nothing. I run games on it and host LAN parties with it when my buddies show up and she has been a great little power house for GMod, EvE, and a ton of old games as well. Lately though I have had an issue with a pop up in the bottom right of my screen telling me my network cable is unplugged. It has done this for a few weeks now and it is getting annoying. I tried changing cat5 cables but no sucess. It is kicking me out of games and I can't host for more than 15 minutes before it does it again. I pulled my ethernet card out and it is in good condition for a 3 year old piece. I just can't isolate the problem and get it to stop. I am running XP pro sp3, 2gigs of ram, AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+. It is driving me mad. Any ideas?
are you running a router?if so try unplugging the router and plugging it back in.had a very similar problem with my connection.turned out it was the router.
does modem have usb connection & if so then try it to see what happens? try another netcard to see what happens.
