its more of an annoyance, but how do you get rid of a network gateway? i just dont like it there, it works the same but i would rather get rid of the network gateway and just have my one local area connection. it worked on the internet without the gateway and i was hoping someone could explain how to get rid of the gateway

Asuming you are running xp, go to start, control panel, add remove programs, add remove windows components, scroll down to networking services, uncheck internet gateway device discovery and control client. If not xp, should be close to the same, just worded differently.
