network problem

    i have three computers connected to my network but only two can be viewed through my network places. the two that can be viewed are laptops. i was able to connect all three of my computers and share files but now my desktop is not showing on any of the computers but i can connect to the internet. any help.

    connecting to the internet and home networks are two different things. Usually what you have to do is run the network setup wizard that Windows has on each of the computers and it will set up a home network so that each computer can access the files on the other.

    There are also programs out there that you can use, once installed they will automatically pick up any device connected to your network and set them up for you.

    you can buy the 3 PC version for $30 and the 5PC version for $40
    not too bad if you want to eliminate the hassle of doing this yourself manually.

    Thanks for replying i got the program but i can't share it says this folder cannot be shared. The other devices connected to the network do show up but i can't share the folders from my xp pc. any ideas?
