I hvae 4 computers hooked up by a network....they are all wireless all with different names...and all on mshome (network name)....i am trying to add another computer to the network but it is not working this computer is not wireless.....it is connected via ethernet from my router.....my router is plugged into phone line for DSL i tried netwroking them.....i put it on mshome....and a different name than the other 4.....why is this cumputer not picking up the network????
yes interent works perfect.....this pc is not communicting with the others.....others can't see this pc.....and this pc can't see others....but others see others
go to start/run and type whatever the ip address is on the other computer you are trying to connect to. Example: //192.168.1.100 Also, do you have a shared folder?
yes i have shared folders how do i find out my IP on both computers?....they seem to be the same unless im looking at them wrong
Nah...just been quit busy. Sorry to leave you hang'n To check your what your IP is there are a few different ways. One way is; 1. start/run type cmd, now type ipconfig and hit enter, from there it will give you your IP address, Subnet mask and default gateway. 2. start/control panel/network connections now go to your local area connection and highlight it, from there off to your left in the details box it will also give you your ip address as well. I will keep an eye out for this thread so ask away for any other questions.
okay so i tried start/run put in ip of ethernet computer.....windows can't find if i go to cmd and ping the ip.....it finds it.....if i try pinging it with the name of the computer it doesn't find it however for the wireless computers that i have already networked i can ping the name of the computer and i can access the computers what next?
