Networking x-box will it affect my internet network ?

    if i network my x-box to my pc will this affect my internet setup i have a router which is wired to my pc and is wireless to my laptop i've noticed on other threads on the forum you put an ip address on the pc for the x-box does this mean i will have to reset the internet each time i finish networking my x-box

    I didn't have to change ne of my settings at all but I'm not using a wireless router either, I'm not sure if that makes a difference??

    i use a wireless router and no, i dont change anything to use live...or the web

    No, because you don't have to follow the setup that the other tutorial follows.

    What you do is connect a ethernet cable from your router to your xbox, and set your dashboard settings to "DCHS" from Static. Your router should automatically recognize it and your internet should be fine.

    Even if the router is static you can have the xbox on the network. Just make sure that the IP is in the same range as the router addy. Also if the DNS is the same then it will find it no problem.

    eg
    ROUTER
    192.168.2.100
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.2.1

    DNS
    192.168.2.1


    set the xbox at
    192.168.2.125
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.2.1

    DNS
    192.168.2.1


    The xbox will been seen on the network without any troubles.
