networking

    Hi need a little help please I'm trying to contect my two PC's so I can go on line via both PC's I think I'm using a wrong sort of card a friend gave me a D_Link 10/100 Adapter, Ethernet PCI Adapter But I think this needs a base to contect to, when I have tryed it comes up saying there is no contection. ideas please.

    you either need a hub/switch to connect the two computers together with, or you can get a crossover cable and connect them directly to each other through the NIC cards

    if wanting both computers on the net & using broadband than get a router preferably linksys
