Yes you can play music videos, you transfer them via FTP, and how to play them you can use a program called XBMC. Yes you can surf the web on the xbox with a program called linksbox and XBMC will soon if not right now has that program integrated into it. And what do you mean you want to do you own mods? like actual programming or like hardware mods? degalle
ok now i have a few more questions and ill try to be more clear 1.ok could you explain where to ftp those things to witch partition/file and go a little deeper on how to use them 2. by make my own mods i mean like changing game maps and so on i hear people catch alot of crap on here for not makin there own and just takin others the web surfin and music vids are my first priority i just dont know where to put em
For linksbox you put it in any drive. Just add it in to your evox.ini file so it will be able to launch it...or you could use a file manager and launch it that way.
fireprof, do you still have just the original hard drive in the Xbox? for videos and whatnot, you're going to need to get something beefier. i wouldn't go any smaller than 80 gigs.
With HDD prices these Days I wouldn't recomend anything smaller then 200Gb but 80Gb, 160Gb or 400Gb It's all the same thing once you start copying +50 Games and an assortment of Movies to the XBOX™! The only option left is to get an Xtender Casemod. (Yes it looks like Sheat!) but, at least you can add up to two more Drive and not have to worry so much about killing your Dives be overheating them. So my advivce is to get the largest capacity 5400RPM Drive you can find. As that will stay alot cooler then a 7200RPM Drive. My other piece of advice Get your Drive from a real Computer Store not from some General Electronics store. For myself I have had nothing but bad luck with such Drives! Most likely because unbenonst to me some idiot knocked it into the Asile off the Top Shelf. Oh well...
