I've been burning dvd+r's for about 5 years, and the burner (old 4x TDK w/ nero express 5) has died. So I replaced it with a new 20x LG-GH20LP20 and Nero 9.

Now when I burn DVDs they play fine in the PC but my Sony DVD player (that plays the previous 5yrs worth fine) wont read them and gives one of two errors - cant read disk or No disc.

Any ideas what could case this problem? DVD+R band is the same before and after upgrade. So IMO its either the drive or a setting in the software somewhere?

    Nero 9
    DVDFAB
    DVD Shrink
    LG-GH20LP20

From reading parts of the DVDshink forum it appears that Shink and nero 7+ dont work. so Im going to try 6 and see if works.

    Forget Nero.
Burn with ImgBurn using only top quality discs Like Taiyo Yuden.

    Shrink works with Nero 7

Version 8 (and above?) do not, however.

I'm with Dialysis, use Imgburn and top quality discs.

You Might want to use -Rs or booktype your +Rs.
Also try using FixVts after you rip with DVDFab.
Imgburn is a Far better Burner than NERO

    Thanks for all the help.

I got imgburn and still same problem.

However using DVDfab to rip/burn they seem to work so far, so Im going to stick with it for now.

Post a log from either Nero or Imgburn. That'll give us a good look at what's going on.
