this is hella cool......anyone had any problems yet with the solderless ones? sounds like from the reading that everyone loves them
Well dude...I don't think anybody has had a chance to try out these chips yet; they've just (or at least they were supposed to have) been shipped on the 15th of January...
I have this chip preordered and so far from what has been posted on the dms forums and from what IVe gotten from Divineo they were waiting on a couple more parts but should ship out Friday. Thats if there is no more delays.
Today the official DMS4 EZI Site has been updated with NEWS of the modules now shipping after a delay during the holidays.
According to divineo.cn the lite version should ship thursday i belive and the pro will ship a week to 10 days after the lite.
Yo the GUy who was aksing what flashin is. its basically upgrading the firmware of the chip. so bsacially it just means u can upgrade ur chip so incase they get new features or if they find fixes for any problems so u wont have to replace and buiy a new chip in case they soem how make games not able to play copied games. u can upgrade ur chipthrough burning a cd and it will upgrade form it. and solderless is amazing. im having secon thoughts paying 110$ candaian for my matrix infinity although its great autoload and also upgradable.
Unlike the DMS3 chip which came with a bios, I believe the DMS4 chip needs a bios (kinda like the xbox chips) that will allow backups to play. It most likely is a legality thing against piracy, blah blah blah. This looks awesome. For me the DMS3 install was a B!tch to solder. At least with the solderless chip (~$80 US) is still really reasonable considering you gotta buy a chip ~$50 plus pay for the install ~$60, so its a no brainer. Flashing the bios is easy as pie. You DL the bios, copy to disc, then load the disc in the system. It should auto update the bios.
The DMS4 Ezi Pro Lite is the only one out at the moment the DMS4 Ezi Pro will be out shortly (this is off the DMS website) http://www.dms3.com/cgi-bin/dms4/site.pl?page=home the DMS4 Ezi will not fit the PSTwo slim without a new caseing for the console. The DMS4 Ezi Pro & DMS4 Ezi Pro Lite both play PSX/PS1 PS2 CDs CDRs DVDs DVD-R DVD+R Single & Double sided backups from boot with no other tricks. The Pro plays out of region DVDs, the lite doesn't
I was reading up on the DMS EZI mods and it seems like they are only compatible with certain versions. The versions that are mentioned that will work are V5-V11 and some V4 not really sure about the V12 PS2 are compatible.I think it depends on if the V4 can read Dvd+R which I am not really certain at the moment, and the V12 probably does need a special case for the chip.I think the best place to get the Lite version at the moment will be http://www.modchipman.com and PRO version is not released yet,but will be released on the 31st.I don't like Divineo.com so that is why I am not recommending them. They sell bad chips sometimes and if you try to send them back to get a refund they take a stocking fee charge out of your money so you could end up getting ripped off(it always takes a long time to ship also).I also like this site http://www.chipdealer.com they are pretty good.Like chaseagej said it isn't hard to install so far from what I have seen, beats the hell out of solder chips.Dix_Fix some versions might not work and I am sure they are working on a fix for them.
