NEW computer problem

    i just built my first computer and when i start it up for the first time it displays "press Del to enter setup" so i press del and all it says is "entering setup" and nothing else happens, i cant get into Bios. Am new at this too HELP PLZ....
    configuration:
    AM2 3800 X2
    Asus M2N-E
    ATI X800XL

    take everything off the motherboard
    take the little battery out
    wait 5 minutes
    put the little battery back in
    put one stick of ram in
    nothing else (well ok put the proceessor in)
    try to start it
    add bits until it won't start then you'll know whats wrong
    if it won't start at all switch the ram

    i've been researching around the web and i noticed that Asus M2N-E mobos dont have bios right out of the box, how do i setup bios when i dont have one already? do i just do the same steps as updating bios?

    thx pcrepair, i fixed the problem, it was the jumper settings i had for my cd rom that wouldnt let me start up the computer. the problem is fixed i just have to install my OS now.
