I recently built a new computer and installed windows 7 X64 but I have been having problems with it. Upon start up it will freeze at Windows Starting menu. I have looked all over the internet and it seems people are having similar issues. All the other posts that I read never seem to get it figured out so I am trying my luck here. Here my specifications. Windows 7 x64 RAM2) 2gigs of rigsaw 1600mhz Motherboard: Gigabyte P55A-UD3 GPU: EVGA GTX-460 768MB GDDR5 CPU: Intel i5-750 PSU: Corsair TX 750w I have the minimum amount of usbs plugged in. At first I thought the computer wasn't getting enough power so I plugged in into the wall, no luck. I have tried two different hard drives. Still the same issue. When it does let me log in the computer runs PERFECT, its just the start up that freezes. Thanks for all the help.
try 1 stick of ram at a time & in each slot to see if boots properly. presuming sata hd then try each sata prt & change sata cable. if not using ide hd but have 1 then load windows on it to see if still have problem or not.
Alright I switched sata cables last night and Im getting a different result. Now my pc turns on every other time. OK I tried a single stick of ram and its turning on. I tried twice and booted immediately. Is there some type of fix for that? Thanks again
have you tried that stick in each slot? bad stick of ram should still be under warranty so get it replaced under warranty.
I have tried it in two different slots. One slot it didnt even show anything on screen and on the second slot it loaded a couple of times and started freezing again.
Found the fix. On my specific motherboard I have to have both of my sticks of RAM in the white slots.
