Okay, I have an HP Pavilion laptop, and I currently transfers some .MP4s to it. Noticing that it needed some 'enhancements' I added FFDshow and the other codec (forgot, but i did get it from the guide that afterdawn recommends) I thought that the end result would be the same, but the .MP4s on the laptop lag the video. The audio is usually five seconds faster then the video, can anyone help?

(The laptop is using windows Vista by the way)

I know someone is gonna dump on me for this but laptops don't handle encoding as well as desktops it's just shear power to create the files cooling is important and processor speed along with ram all play a part in this, now I know there are some suped up laptops that do have some serious power but the average dual core laptops run at 1.6 to 2.2 ghz and while 2.2 is nothing to laugh at it's not the same has having that running on a desktop with a serious power supply and video card not integrated video also you can get faster hard drives on desktops. Now I see u didn't do the conversions on this laptop but transferred them what codec are they in, mp4 can be divx, xvid, rgb, h.264 did you transfer them from a flash drive or a disc.
