This might be a very stupid question but I've been hearing rumours from a few of my colleages at work that the red and black/blue and black DSs that were released in Japan came with some kind of protection that prevented the DSTT from working.

I've got my eye on the new crimson DS that just recently came out and right now there's a good offer on that I want to take advantage of, but I don't want to trade in my old, white DSLite if it's going to render my DSTT useless. I've scoured the internet but I've not found anything concerning this rumour, does anybody have one of these new DSs and a working DSTT?
