After happily using an R4 card for 12 months without problems I decided I needed something with greater capacity than the 2GB, so I've gone for a DSTT with a SanDisk 8gb microSD HC.

I've put the unzipped TTMenu dat file and the TTMenu System file from the 1.17 kernel from the dstt.com website on to the root of the memory card. I've also got the ttmenu folder from the kernel and a folder for games with one game in it.

When I load up I get Nintendos standard memory and then these blue and purple vertical stripes on the top and bottom screen with the "loading" style cube in the bottom lefthand corner just going round and round. It wont go any further than that.

I've tried a few other things: I've tried it with and without moonshl, the game in and out of the folder, I've tried a 2gb card I know works, all with the same results. If I load the dstt without a memory card I get the "no card?" warning and if I just use the 8gb memory without any files on it I get the "menu?" warning, which I think means the dstt card should work.

How can I get past this damn screen and into the games?

    Thans

With DSTT the difficult question - did you get a genuine one or a fake.

If you got as fake the genuine firmware will not work, try the site in my signature and look at the fakes section

    Cheers Kittymat.

It's obviously a fake, can't complain at the price though. I've now got it up and running.

got a genuine dstti from ndscardshop.co.uk not saying this is a 100% all the time same as any rom cart place always trying to make an extra $ can do pound sign usa laptop/keyboard site is a uk seller had it in 3 working days, running 16gb sdhc from play.com cheapest micro sdhc card around search micro sdhc to find them. your card is a fake to fix it
http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?download=4086 try this download link unzip and put on micro sd card run in a working dstt if you can not boot the non working one if you try a couple of times taking micro sd in and out sometimes it will boot, if you used a working dstt press a on the flash writer and once program loaded remove card don't run program put fake card in (it does not need a micro sd card at this stage) run program, once done its now fixed, DO NOT use the firmware's 1.16 and above from dstt.com you can delete the firmware writer and checker file and run games from this firmware you have on micro sd at present, make a games folder and put .nds files in there, just done this for the two cards i bought of dealextreme after getting two white screens and a failed boot works fine now.

1.17ao1 through to 1.17ao7 will work on patched card

I thought I read some where that NDSTT's can only read up to 4GB.

I should elaborate as I know I couldn't find the answer on the web.

I've got a fake DSTT so I had to put on the fake compatible firmware DAT file (as linked to in previously response). It works fine with 8gb SDHC and should go to 32gb but I've not tried it.
