Ha i got the joke too, so were talking roughly two months til the new firmware, then a further couple of weeks to see if anyone in the community gets banned once they've tried it online, time to play through my back catalogue of single player games then eh? At least their appears to be light at the end of the tunnel, I was seriously worried that M$ had everyone stumped with this ban wave.

 

MS doesnt do year-round bans so we wont know until next November.

 

are you kidding ?? microsoft won ... i mean this was a hands down full fledged knockout on the modding community. imagine all the kiddies who are now running out buying more xbox's ... giving all the money right back to microsoft

now you talk about waiting a few months for some new "undetectable" firmware... what just to use it for 6 months until the next ban wave hits ?? then the cycle repeats and all the kids are emptying their pockets for microsoft hardware again... its insanity.

 

well i got banned too after playing cod mw2, i checked it with abgx, it said it was 78% corrupt video padding so i autofixed and played online for a while then next time i logged in i was banned. My question is "has anyone played cod mw2 backup online without getting banned?"

I updated to 1.61 and played a level 3 autofix copy of MW2 and got hit the next day.

 

ya i appoligize if i contributed to some sort of false sense of security with the current firmware versions and got anyone banned. Very curious tho if anyone has ran a backup of cod mw2 online and NOT been banned.

 

I have been playing it and not banned, was my own Kreon rip tho. In all honestly it looks like firmware responses are getting people banned so i expect to be banned soon enough.

This is nothing new. Same process as before when Micro$oft banned consoles. Go out and buy another console.

Yeah, I agree. They ban bunch of xboxs and modders get smarter because of it. There's going to be a point where the firmware is undetectable and the angles on the games are indestinguishable. Now, all anyone has to worry about it ABGX having a faulty database. Personally, ABGX is my biggest concern. They need to somehow make it a requirement that rips are only run on the 0800 drive and not the Kreon.

 

Nope, banned = banned for life. Unless you are good with the JTAG tool, which even the most savvy modders will admit that it's easier to just go out and buy a used box on ebay and mod it.

 

When will people realise no games manufacturer makes money off their console, not sony, not M$. They make the profit off Live subscriptions, games and DLC etc. By the way i dint go out and buy a new console what with it being un-moddable and everything....

 

why exactly would they ban 600,000 consoles all paying for live... thats upwards of 30 million dollars... i personally refuse to purchase a new xbox... ps3 has a blueray and the online is free...

The firmware on the Kreon doesn't record the angles of the games, while the 0800 does. This could be a big reason for bans, since games like MW2 have different angles throughout the game. No one can say for sure that this is what they are detecting, but what other reason would they have for having multiple angles in one game?

 

hmm. Pretty interesting and I would have to agree if that is the case. I have a kreon though LOL. I would assume the Kreon firmware could be fixed with a flash as well.

 

Yes, don't throw that thing away just yet. I've read that a firware fix is all it takes. We'll just have to see how long it takes. This is all speculation anyways, and I don't want to spread lies, but it makes alot of sense. As for people that got banned without playing a burnt game, not sure. I'm not even sure if I believe them in the first place.
