i forgot to say i ripped the movie with anydvd, sharnk it with dvd shrink and burnt it with dvd decrypter.thanx for any help
i knew it it had to be the version as it was kinda old. the problem was that this was a hacked version... NO longer am i going to get cracked versions as the folks at slysoft deserve every single penny! . as we speak i getting 5.9.5.6 yep just updates ... in less then a day ... what a great support and fast too from slysoft. Jigen : the reason why anydvd is an awesome small app is why you update your ver from time to time.... like i said i had 5.7.2.1 and all my dvds store bought over 1,000 dvds never in my life had any problem... SLYSOFT deserves it man.... free lifetime updates.. with a matter of 1 click and in 60 secs new ver everytime... .
I was mad that it updated again today. I just installed 5.9.5.3 or whatever and then I go back to their site and there is a new version!!! I hate restarting my PC...
lol you dont need to restart pc . just log out and log in ... i know this is soposely restarting since it stops all background apps then restarts everything.... click start run then type in msconfig then go to start up options and change those things and pc loads faster... on start up ofcourse.
I hear you gus, but disagree. The fact is that if it was so great it should be able to analyze these protections and defeat them without updating daily or 3x weekly. EVERY newer release with ARccOS that I tried with the PGCedit plugin for Decrypter has been defeated WITHOUT any need for updating. It's just ridiculous that Slysoft can't create such functionality for AnyDVD, and they expect you to pay. Also, there are newer movies with the same old protection that's been around for years, and while Decrypter rips right through, AnyDVD needs these updates. Why can't they create a program that's at least equal to an outdated copy of Decrypter, and that doesn't need updates just to wipe it's ass? The best thing that I can say about AnyDVD is that as long as they keep it updated, it should cut down on the "I can't copy this disc" newb posts.
While I agree that there has been a number of updates (a good thing), the majority of them have been to keep out dated, third party software operational and minor tweeking and not due to unusual protections.
intresting to what you say and i kind of agree, but this app is small size and lets say we put that aside if i didnt mentioend i have over 1,000 store bought dvds and not 1 has failed me and i didnt update anydvd 5.7.2.1 until today . that was a long time so anydvd does work with out updaing it just that now and then it doesnt hurt... kinda like the saying if it anit broken dont fix it . but insted its broken lol.
@gus738, Never thought the log out would do it...Thanks for that info. My PC starts up very fast though. I only have 3 things running in the background and about 6 or 7 services. I use Windows 2000 so there is not nearly as much garbage as Windows XP.
I think that updating is a great thing if you can offer some new functionality. The best updates I guess were when they added the ripper and the fix vts functionality. Until then AnyDVD was pointless because you still had to use other apps to rip and to fix problems it couldn't handle. Luckily for us all, few discs are a problem. For every Fun with Dick and Jane, there are 100 like King Kong that can be ripped by nearly anything. That's where AnyDVD gets a lot of it's rep anyway. "I ripped this with AnyDVD, what a great program" someone posts. "Me too!" cries another newb. Truth be told, Decrypter probably would have ripped it too, for free, but since 1 or 2 discs stumped these posters due to whatever reason they do everything with AnyDVD now. If you use it and like it, great. It seems to work well enough if you keep it updated, but there is room for improvement IMO, and there are freeware apps that still do it just as well even without the updates.
@Jigen, (No offense taken) The reason AnyDVD updates so often is because the software itself is used around the world where often different forms of DVD-CD encryptions exist. I know you have read post where people who are members here and live say in Europe have expressed utter difficulty backing up a movie that many from different parts of the world but mostly the USA say that they have backed up the same movie with no problem. AnyDVD software updates cater to all it's cutomer's here and abroad. So do understand AnyDVD caters to a very broad and international customer base and everyones issues with backing up movies breaking DVD encryptions differ around the world. Just look at all the languages listed in the program Besides the updates cost nothing and hurt nothing. You don't even have to update if you as the owner don't feel the need to.
@N2DVD, There is only one thing I see wrong with your argument. You stated that there are several encryptions around the world, but there is only one, CSS. There is no other encryption on a DVD as putting a new one would render the disc useless. What there is around the world is a different way of corrupting a DVD (that is all that ARccOS and Ripguard is). Say Lords of Dogtown in Region 1 will have Cells 6 & 13 unreadable, maybe LoD in Region 2 will have cells 3 & 5 unreadable. Also, this may be contained in the first 18 cells vs.. the first 16 cells and maybe in VTS_01 vs VTS_04. These are not different encryptions, just different DVD structures. I think what Jigen is saying is that AnyDVD should not care about the different DVD Structures and not need to update as much, i.e. a better structure analysis or better corruption detection. It should be possible to make a long term fix, but then you may get more problems if you use it for ripping the corrupted movies. I will not get into why DVDD works on some movies where AnyDVD fails, because I do not want to give anyone any ideas on how to better implement their corruption, just keep in mind that Macrovision, the company that makes Ripguard, which is found on Narnia, owns DVD Decrypter...
Fact is... DVD Decrypter + PSL plugins via PgcEdit (FREE) is unstoppable and VobBlanker (FREE) is the strongest "invalid structures, invalid pgc, invalid data navigation, fake/dummy cells" processing tool. Another fact is that DVDFAB Decrypter (FREE) is one of the greatest FREE ripper in my humble opinion besides DVD Decrypter.
Hey, any chance any one can tell me the procedure of having anydvd and anydvdmobile on more than one computer.. I am about to purchse and can't find an answer!! Does anyone know???
Your personally "PROGRAM KEYS" supplied at time of purchase (Sent by Email) will load to any computer you choose to install them to.
gus738 why in the world would you be saying (NO longer am i going to get cracked versions) in this forum you know what ever you do is up to you but don't say stuff like that, it is good that you are geting the right frame of mind, but talking about the cracked stuff in here is frowned on in here, so just a heads up ok, happy burning
Sony movies are problematic. Sometimes DVDFabDecrypter 2.9.7 works for Sony movies. I have another program called SuperClone DVD v3.0 which has been successful with Sony movies. It's only problem is it turns the subtitles a green color from original white. The only time I had to use AnyDVD was on Memoirs of A Geisha. PS..Even the ripped DVD of Dick and Jane was wierd. When ripped files were played on PowerDVD, half of the third VOB file was the second half of the movie and the second half of the third VOB file was the start again of the movie. Tried loading the files onto DVD Shrink just for experimentation, and it could not read the third VOB. But once you load the IFO and burn it, the files seem to rearrange themselves and the DVD plays fine. NOTE"""Seems like every Sony movie is different, even the new releases. Memoirs of a Geisha works with AnyDVD, but not with Fun with Dick and Jane. Best to have all the decrypters I've listed on this note...if one doesn't work, the other will. Good Luck All...Paul
@ apac99999 if you read my ealier comment you'' figure out that fun with dick and jane can be copied perfectly fine with the latest anydvd build... the combination of anydvd+clonedvd2 as long as its updates you will NEVER have problems to backup a dvd ever.
I know all about AnyDVD. All I can say about this product is that it's a waste of money. It works with one DVD, but not others. AnyDVD can't seem to work on DVDs that have simple chapter number manipulation. If you're going to spend any money, go for DVD Fab Platinum, which decrypts, shrinks and burns any DVD...no matter the title. I've gone through too many AnyDVD version trial changes to waste money on something that only occassionally works.
