@apac99999 No offense, Would you care to expound on what you experienced with what you refer to as chapter manipulation. I too have experience some inaccuracy with AnyDVD when set to "Jump to Main MENU" which for me is a major benefit from AnyDVD. It will sometimes go to scene selection instead of play. But works %98 of the time. Overall it's a great program and works quicker than DVDFab. I like Slysoft AnyDVD for their support. It's good to have professionals on your side with the same objective in mind when you run into tough movies. I would say try it though there is nothing wrong with tinkering with multiple programs for your end result, I don't always have the time or even see the need to do so. AnyDVD definitely simplifies the back-up process along with other programs like Vob Blanker.

The most recent version 5.9.6.0 has improved recordability with NERO 6 or 7 which for me is great because I use Recode2. So with AnyDVD it's like using just one back-up program for the most part. Many struggle with the purchase of the sofware mentally and perhaps financially? But for what AnyDVD does It's well worth it. I know you'd buy it if the freeware dried up or was no longer free. Hey you pay for your flicks, Any where from $5.00 to $24.99 What's $40.00 bucks and even cheaper if you purchase it on sale or in combination with other available SlySoft programs. AnyDVD? Any? Any?...AnyDVD? Yeeeezirrr AnyDVD.:p

No offense, but you go on and on how terrible anyDVD is over and over ad nauseum in multiple threads. Why don't you just not use it and quit whining about it? No one else seems to have a problem with it, it does any movie I ever tried. You certainly aren't going to stop users from using it so why bother?? Appears to me all you are doing is looking for an argument and don't really have anything intelligent or useful to say. What you did say is BS, my daughter was a couple updates behind and had NP with new releases.BTW, if you bought it how can you miss updates???
    Try upgrading your firmware.

I tried backing up unfinished lines with dvd shrink but got a redundancy message. I was able to back it up using decryptor, but how do I get it on a disk. I tried with nero but it say not enough room. Help!!!!!

You have to run the file through Shrink, and then burn it. If Shrink gives you and error then rip the movie again using DVDFab Decrypter and the use Shrink. DVDFab Decrypter is much better at doing newer/tougher protected movies.

Guys I'm not talking about the free version of DVD Fab Decrypter. I'm talking about the paid version. DVD Fab Platinum (which includes the DVD Fab Gold program - also a paid one) is not free. Just decrypted Aeon Flux, which was 18 minutes for decryption and burning total, from the time you press START. I only have an old 1.7Ghz P4 512MB home-built PC, nothing fancy.
AnyDVD's problem is that once you update, you lose access to the older version. And occassionally the updated version does not work as well as the prior version. I have a second 10GB HD with XP with an older version of AnyDVD. My main drive has the lastest AnyDVD. I don't recall the movie that the latest version could not decrypt, but the older version loaded on my second HD worked on the movie. That is the problem that I find with AnyDVD, and I am not the only one. All my friends have had the same issues. It is very good, but not always reliable.
PS. The only problem you will ever run into with DVD Fab Platinum is that when you select the DVD, you occassionally have to select the VIDEO_TS folder as the source. I've had to do this twice when it choked on using the DVD title as source.

If you save your update file on your HDD, or if you do not have enough space on your HDD then use a disk, you will be able to roll back to any prior version by merely uninstalling a reinstalling the older version. I and the people I know that have this program have not had any problems with it, and slysoft usually does not release an update without testing, and if a bug does show up another update is issued within 24 hours. I have not found one movie that does not work with AnyDVD. I also have DVDFab Platinum/Gold and yes it works fine but it too also needs updates to take care of the new encryption. It is all in what a person prefers to back up their files.

If you don't save your key file that is sent to you will have problems when you have to restore/reformat. If you cannot find the file then back it up from the registry. You can do it this way:

The AnyDVD key is stored in the registry here:

    'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SlySoft\AnyDVD\Key'

If you are using XP go to your start menu, then run, and type in regedit and the hit ok.

Browse to the above location, highlight 'key' and choose File > Export.

Copy and Save to a floppy, cd/dvd disk or another drive for backup.
