i got a compaq sr2011vm it only came with a dvd/cd-r so a few days later i also bought a LG GSA-h22l dvd-rw. i installed this and left the factory cd-r installed, but after installing neither drive shows up. i also installed a different dvd-rw drive(it was a christmas gift i had to open) it didn't show up either. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks that helped but still got a problem. it's showing both drives now but the dvd-rw is showing as a dvd-ram. since the dvd/cd-r was factory i left it along and changed the clip on back of dvd-rw to the slave.
If oit shows as DVD RAM then that's fine. Switch them over, factory one can go as SLAVE, it won't harm anything. Your main burner should be MASTER.
