new eternal hard drive problem

    i backed up loads off films music pictures etc to a new external hard drive which is 500gb i had used 55gb which as been double checked anyway i tryed moveing a 6.7gb image file on to it from laptop so i could burn it on main pc dew to specal dvd burner required for that image a got this message

    sorry drive is full delete spome files or clean disk

    i tryed turning it on an offboth the laptop and the drive still nothing.

    helpppppppp plz

    Did you format the external to NTFS? They usually are in FAT32 which doesn't handle files over 4 gig.

    i have the same prob.
    my drive needs to be reformated.
    how do you reformat it?

    You'll need to backup anything on it first that you want to keep.
    Then you can go into my computer (right click on it)>manage>storage>disc management.
