As my firmware (10/4/08) is working fine, is there any reason or benefit from upgrading to the latest firmware. Is it purely for the Irish / Chorus problems?
BTW I live in UK and i'm ex TW.
Only problem I hd with this firmware was that update channels fooked up my favourites. I can live with that.

Latest firmware is actually the 18/04/08 for genuine MaxVs only. It has the Ch**us AU fix and faster autoroll. It can be used for all providers.

Cheers for a speedy response, I may aswell update it then.
Although i'm a little worried about people saying that they get pauses regularly where it says insert smart card, I haven't seen any pauses or stutters since the 11th when I installed the previous firmware. So a quicker auto roll doesn't really bother me ( at present anyhow). Is this just a case that the TW codes haven't rolled in ages.
Maybe i'll hang on and wait to see if all the probs others are having settle down.
Also read a scary post a week or so ago, probably just scaremongering speculation that from today, the codes would be rolled every 5 mins, has anybody heard of or seen any evidence of this yet. Lets hope it is just a nasty rumour, place on here by a VM employee.

If the firmware you already have is working fine, I see little or no benefit at present to upgrade it. As long as you are happy then thats fine.

It might however, be prudent to keep a copy of the latest firmware available on the off-chance your current one goes belly-up what with all the recent key rolls.

Only problem I hd with this firmware was that update channels fooked up my favourites. I can live with that.

To fix this problem before you update your channels press the power scan button & turn Fav. Sort to OFF before you Update Channels. Hope this helps

Ahh, cheers or that, I occasionally like to use the update channels function to see if new channels have been added or old ones have moved.
Only new channels I've found this year tho, have been a gay one and the arsenal channel, both unwanted!!
