Hi this is not really a problem i just need profesional, help. I just opened one of my christmas presents(in adcvance), im i was happy to notice it was a New Geforce card, its a PNY GeForce 6 Series 6200 256MB. so i opened it, and i have noticed, it doesent seem to have a Fan on it, i have looked at most pictures of latest cards, and they all seen to have fans on it, even the 5 series have fans on it so why don't my 6 series have a fan on it? my main point is does it matter that it has not got a fan, and, would it make a different, andddd its not any old cheap £50 card, its cost £90.99, to be exact at Pcworld. so please just explain to me thanks very much.

    Cheers.

it was designed for ues without a card. if worried about heat buildup on the card can put a pci slot system blower fan beside the card to pull hot air from the card. can also add more case fans to tower if not have any.

I dont mean it that way, i dny care about the heat. i was just thinking if this card don't have a fan, then that must mean its shit?, or does that really matter?, cuz when i see all good cards most of them all have fans on them, and my card is 'meant' to be good, yet it dont even have a fan, and it cost me £90, im thinking to change it to a 6600, just because that has a fan and it looks good.

please prove me wong that mosty good cards dont need a fan

i've seen good cards without fans as the heatsinks are big so is up to you what you want to do. can try the card out intensively to see if have any problems with heat & if do than return it to get a card with a fan.

1)The GeForce 6200 is an old card, don't expect it to be as good as you think.
2)About half of 6200's have fans and the other half have only heatsinks, so the fan not a big problem at all.
3)WOW. The card should have NOT cost $156. They retail for an average of $75-$80 at Newegg.com, so whoever paid for it, overpaid quite a bit for an old card.
4)Just because you see a fan on an X850XT and see a fan on an FX5200 doesnt mean they are comparible in performance.
    5)Good/New cards need a fan+heatsink
6)Do yourself a favor and get a better card. The 6600GT will cost you LESS at Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com and will perform a whole lot better. Not sure if Newegg or Tigerdirect ship internationally, so look for better deals...$156 for a GeForce 6200 is bogus.
